Who can join?

There is place for you at Power In Motion if you fit into one of the categories below. Under the age of 18 requires parent or guardian permission. PIM Kids must be 5 or over and accompanied by a parent guardian.

  • New to running and not currently exercising regularly and can walk 30 min continuously.
  • Currently jogging or jog/walking regularly 2-3 times per week and can run 1 mile continuously.
  • Intermediate runner currently able to run at least 3 miles continuously.
  • Veteran runner doing at least 20 miles a week, long run of 5+, and veteran of at least 2 previous PIM sessions.
Where do we meet?

We meet on the East side of Memorial Park, just North West of the Memorial Park Fitness Center Pool.

When do we meet?

Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm promptly. Emails will be sent in the event of cancellations for inclement weather. We will run in light rain.

Each session roughly follows this schedule:

6:30 pm - announcements.
6:35 pm - guest speaker.
6:45 pm - groups leave for their run.
7:30 pm - 7:45 pm - groups return.

What's the cost?

The registration fee is $30 and $40 depending on how soon you register. See the registration site for the current fee. Check out our Facebook page for any discount codes.

What does the program cost include?

Cost of the program includes the 10 week running program. The cost does not include the 5K race entry fee.

Do you provide a T-Shirt?

A Power In Motion tech shirt or singlet can be purchased for an additional $25 when you register.

COVID Policy

The PIM program intends to meet, in person, on Wednesdays for the full 10 week schedule unless prohibited by the Memorial Park Conservancy, City of Houston, Harris County, or Texas. Should they prohibit outdoor gatherings by groups like PIM, all PIM participants will receive a refund of their registration fee.

PIM attendees are encouraged to adopt what ever health and safety practices they feel are necessary.
